- Type: People Who Play

I ordered my first pro-grade instrument, the Beartooth, in 2000 based on a recommendation from the folks at Acoustic Outfitters. That served me quite well for 6 years and I learned quite a bit on that instrument. Having a good axe really can help make you a better player. Then I got the itch for a different sound, a little drier, more woody, and punchier. I was lucky enough to get a great deal on this Yellowstone. I wasn't planning on buying for a while but there it was and there I got it. And there I am supremely happy with the tone, playability, volume, fit/finish, comfort. You guys probably hear a lot of that kind of stuff.
I'm living overseas (life in the US Foreign Service) and miss the great US pickin' festivals. My mandolin helps keeps me grounded. Spent a couple years in Bolivia and am now in Romania and soon to be Sri Lanka.
