My Dog Ate My Mandolin: Part II

My Dog Ate My Mandolin: Part II

A few weeks ago we shared the story of a dog that ate the top off his owner's mandolin.  It has been finished and it was quite a process.

The top had to come off completely.  That left our finish expert, Ryan, to color match the existing back and sides to the brand new top.  "I first had to strip the entire instrument.  The back and sides had already absorbed the stain so I added brown to the top but not the back to achieve the same color,"  he says.

The instrument also got a new fingerboard, frets, a K&K pickup, and was sent home to his happy owner!
