Erik Has-Ellison

Erik Has-Ellison was born in El Cajon, California and moved to Bend in '96 with his family.

Growing up he was surrounded by music in a number of ways; his father was in a band and was gigging in Southern California right up until they moved to Bend. His mother's music collection introduced him to a wide variety of bands and genres. Bands like the Chili Peppers, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam were great influencers.

"My parents weren't the only ones who got me hooked on music. My Grandparents were always involved in their church choir and encouraged me to play piano and sing everywhere I went. I started playing guitar in middle school, taught by one of my Dad's old friends named Tom Kelly. He taught me most of the blues riffs I still play to this day. Writing music has been a big part of my life ever since. It's a great way to put your thoughts on paper and learn more about storytelling and song structure. I'll write a new song every time I'm inspired by something or someone, and I hope I never stop."

Erik eventually moved to the outskirts of Bend, a small town called Tumalo. He worked across the street from the old Breedlove custom shop and became familiar with the brand.

Erik explains, "Going to school and living in Central Oregon for all this time, I became friends with lots of people who worked for Breedlove and always thought it was a dream job. I started working for the company in May of 2016.

While working at Breedlove, I met a man called Ryan Fish on the Weber Mandolins team. I knew a bit about mandolins and set ups, but Fish imparted a lot of know-how to me, and eventually, I joined the Weber crew. I couldn't do what I do today without his instruction and guidance. I'm grateful to him and everyone for having confidence in me to step up and match the excellent work done by the rest of the team."

Erik is a valued part of the Weber team and brings tremendous pride, passion, and attention to detail to his craft. He oversees the string up and final assembly of every Weber Mandolin. We are proud to have him as a member of this fantastic and talented team.
