Tim Farris

Tim Farris is a Jackson Hole WY based songwriter and mandolinist who plays in several different  bands such as One Ton Pig, King St Ramblers, and the Jet Black Ninja Funkgrass Unit, all exhibiting their own unique style and interpretation of bluegrass, old timey, rock and funk music. Tim plays a Weber Yellowstone mandolin, utilizing the clean earthy Weber tone along with a variety of pedal effects and his own unique style of high energy soloing with influences ranging from Sam Bush to Bach to Trey Anastasio to Angus Young.  Aside from playing hundreds of gigs each year throughout Wyoming, Colorado, Montana and the west, Tim's recording career has found him playing mandolin on 6 different albums with 4 different bands.  Tim has also shared the stage and recording studio with such mandolin greats as Matt Flinner, Ronnie McCoury, and local legend Ben Winship.  Aside from music, Tim works as the Trail Supervisor for the Jackson Ranger District and lives in a small cabin on Flat Cr with his wife Sarah and his cat Josie.
