Peter Fand

Peter Fand

Peter Fand is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Las Vegas, NV. He is a 7 year Cirque du Soleil veteran, with their productions “Zarkana” and “Kooza,” and is the front person and mandolin player with the Indie-Americana band “Tin Toy Cars.” He has appeared at many of New York’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Symphony Space, The Apollo Theater, and countless smaller venues. Additionally, he has appeared on many of the great stages of the world, including two-month residencies at The Kremlin Palace Theater in Moscow, Russia, and The Madrid Arena in Madrid, Spain, as well as many other theaters and venues around Europe, South America, Australia and Africa.

Peter plays a stunning Weber Octar, which is featured prominently on Tin Toys Albums “Falling, Rust and Bones” (2016) and “Hello Pariah,” (2020). Tin Toy Cars is a bit of a supergroup of Las Vegas musicians, hailing from some of the biggest production shows on the Strip and beyond.

Peter’s approach as an instrumentalist and unique compositional flavor as a songwriter were greatly informed by two decades of working in the traditional West African music world, traveling back and forth to Guinea and Mali to study Kora (a 21-string West African harp) and percussion. His music is now infused with that aesthetic, which lends a special character to his mandolin playing, reminiscent of the n’goni, the mandolin’s African cousin.

Peter has appeared on over 40 CD’s as songwriter and performer, and has composed/performed music for a variety of films and television spots.

He currently has artist endorsement agreements with Weber Mandolins, Godin Guitars, DR Strings, John Pearse Strings, K&K Pickups, Bluechip Picks and Wula Drum.
