Melissa Cox

Melissa Cox

On a rainy Monday morning in December 2010, Melissa Cox stepped into the studio create a "trip folk" sonic experience. Departing from her historically acoustic sound, Melissa has turned to experimenting with trip hop, ambient, and world beat within an acoustic singer/songwriter framework (think Joni Mitchell meets Bjork or Massive Attack.)  Using looping & multi-tracking technology live on stage, Melissa marries the electronic vibes of the 21st century with the acoustic sounds of her Weber Bridger mandolin.  An award-winning, national touring songwriter, Melissa has shared the stage with Catie Curtis, Tom Chapin, and Cyril Neville (of the Neville Brothers).  She is also the lead singer of Celtic fusion band Mythica, who play festivals across the country and have shared the stage with the likes of Three Dog Night, Celtic Crossroads and Black 47.  "I highly recommend Weber mandolins not just to the serious Celtic musician who values clarity and a full-bodied sound, but also to cross-over artists who like to take traditional instruments to the next level creatively," Melissa says.  "I am very happy with my Weber mandolin and look forward to exploring their other products in the future."  Melissa and Mythica will be touring extensively throughout the United States (including the Hawaiian Islands) in 2011.
