B.J. Golden - Brantley Gilbert

B.J. Golden - Brantley Gilbert

Benjamin J. Golden has been playing music since he was a child.  He started on the piano at age 7 and picked up the guitar at age 9.  After moving to Nashville at 19, he decided to pursue music professionally.  B.J. toured for a short period of time before deciding that, in order to achieve his musical goals, he needed to return to school and gain the professional instruction he never had growing up.  B.J. completed his Bachelor of Music degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2010 and his Master of Music degree from the University of Denver in 2012, both in classical guitar performance.

He has toured and recorded with a wide variety of musicians and artists from many different genres.  In 2012, he toured with Lyle Lovett as a guitar and backline technician.  Lyle heard B.J. playing backstage one afternoon and asked him to play classical guitar before his shows every evening.  Currently, he plays for Brantley Gilbert providing acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, organ, piano, dobro, and harmony vocals.

B.J. plays a Weber River series octave mandolin, in addition to the bitterroot and the rebel square neck dobro.

"I was recently in LA recording on Brantley’s upcoming record, and I used my Weber instruments on several tracks."
