The 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation

The 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation

The 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation will take place this Saturday October 3rd at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Main stage artists also include Dawes (coming off of their recently released, critically lauded album All Your Favorite Bands), Gregory Alan Isakov, The Lone Bellow and Della Mae (both veterans of the 2015 sold out Stagecoach Festival). The festival will also feature a daytime plaza stage with performances by up-and-coming acts Sam Outlaw, Spirit Family Reunion, Jonny Fritz, The Dustbowl Revival, and The Wild Reeds.

The combined collective represents the breadth of talent The Bluegrass Situation has come to represent, bridging the musical gap between traditional and progressive, and showcasing the impact Los Angeles has on the bluegrass scene with the rise of LA natives Dawes, Sam Outlaw, Dustbowl Revival and The Wild Reeds.

Presented by The Bluegrass Situation, Goldenvoice, and Nederlander Concerts, the 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation marks the fifth year of the annual event co-founded by actor/comedian/musician Ed Helms.

This is the first year that Weber Fine Acoustic Instruments is a proud sponsor of the LA Bluegraas Situation and we are excited to to be a part of this fun festival! This year Weber and The Bluegrass Situation teamed up for a swag giveaway so a lucky participant had a chance to win some cool gear. The winner was awarded: a pair of LA Bluegrass Situation tickets to attend the indie roots festival, a commemorative poster, a LA Bluegrass Situation T-shirt, a Weber T-shirt, a Weber hat, and some Weber stickers. The Fretted Frog, based in Pasadena, CA, will be on site representing Weber this year!

About The Bluegrass Situation The Bluegrass Situation is the online hub for American roots music, culture, and lifestyle reporting and curator of one-of-a-kind live shows, concerts, and workshops. They’ve been fostering a tight knit, tech-savvy, real life roots community since 2012. The brainchild of two passionate creatives, Ed Helms and Amy Reitnouer, The Bluegrass Situation brand has snowballed in no small part because of the resurgence of American roots in the culture at large – a yearning for the handmade and authentic – but also because of a high standard for the very best talent, quality content, and finely tuned aesthetic. The Bluegrass Situation is representative of a broader community: one that respects a rich and varied history yet looks ahead for ways to innovate its traditions, translating them into their own authentically modern, carefully curated lifestyle. The festival continues the Bluegrass Situation’s stellar year; a packed stage for the third year in a row at Bonnaroo and presenting a number of spectacular shows across the country, (Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Hurray for the Rif Raf, Nickel Creek, Earls of Leicester, Trampled by Turtles, Shakey Graves, and more). 2015 also marks the international expansion of The Bluegrass Situation, with presented shows in Canada.
