Jacob Navarro

Jacob Navarro

"A leader on mandolin/acoustic guitar that strongly recalls The Bad Livers.....with fierce picking that recalls Tim O’Brien in his youth and a voice that just might unleash hellfire one day, Jacob Navarro made one feel, by turns, that the grave loomed near or one had just gotten the best kiss they could remember in recent history….” Dennis Cook, Jambase. Dirty Impound

Jacob Navarro is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, a regular studio session player, and a year round touring musician based out of the Seattle area. Some collaborations of note are recording projects with George Schwindt of Flogging Molly acclaim, recording and gigging with banjo virtuoso Danny Barnes (The Bad Livers, Dave Mathews Band, Wayne Horvitz, Bill Frisell, Darol Anger, Tim O’Brien, etc…), working with Grammy winning producer Adam Kasper (Foo Fighters, Cat Power, Pearl Jam, Into The Wild Soundtrack, REM, Soundgarden, Tragically Hip, Nirvana, etc…) on various sessions, and playing mandolin with iconic front man of Pearl Jam Eddie Vedder for his song "Better Days", which was a featured part of the Eat Pray Love soundtrack.

He is known for his powerful live performances, delivering impassioned vocals accompanied by fiery guitar and mandolin playing. Comparisons to Tony Rice, Tim O’Brien, Mark Knopfler, David Rawlings, The Wood Brothers, and Danny Barnes are made, but this is a very original brand of Americana roots music.
