Marty Lewis

Marty Lewis

For 25 years prior to joining Weber in 2013, Marty was a high-end woodworker. He has an instinctive feel for the marriage of science and art, which serves him well since he fits necks to the bodies of Weber instruments; the geometry has to be perfect, but there are also aesthetic and "player feel" considerations. Marty has always loved working with his hands, whether painting or sculpting ceramics or restoring old cars. Mountain biking is one of his greatest passions (his son races semi-pro), and Marty builds custom mountain bikes in his spare time. A self-proclaimed tree hugger, Marty loves being in the outdoors and feels honored to work with such beautiful tonewoods; he feels it is his job is to make the best use possible out of the beautiful woods used in Webster instruments.
